How to Build and Create DWG Electrical Symbol Blocks with SPAC Automazione

Creating new DWG electrical symbols within a CAD block has traditionally been a complex process.

However, thanks to the latest version of SPAC Automazione 2024, designers can quickly add and edit these blocks through specific commands using the software’s library.

 

This approach offers several advantages to users, including:

  • Reduced drawing creation time and consequently increased productivity;
  • Decreased errors, as the elements are already precisely produced;
  • Simplified drawing modifications, as common elements can be modified in one place and then updated in all instances where they have been used;

In this article, we will explain in detail how to build and create DWG electrical symbol blocks, providing an optimized user experience and guiding operators in the effective use of our SPAC Automazione 2024 software.

 

Steps to follow:

1. Registering the Desired Inverter/Module

If we do not find an inverter or module in the archive that meets our needs, SPAC Automazione 2024 offers the possibility to create and register its details. The new version has greatly simplified this procedure.

By detailing the article code, you can specify the prefix and dimensions. This allows you to drag the inverter directly onto the topographic drawing, without the need to prepare a layout block.

Thanks to this functionality, the drawing shows the footprint.

In this process, once the code is generated, it is automatically inserted into the material archive where all the previously compiled characteristics are stored.

 

2. Creating Symbols in Associated Blocks and Filling PIN Values

After creating the code, simply click on the 'associated blocks' window, one of the new features introduced with the 2024 release. The command has been revamped using a treeview, making the interaction more immediate and simple.

The real innovation starts here: by activating the symbol creation button, you specify the desired number of PINs. In this context, you can specify the number both upwards and downwards.

A new “Create Block” function is available from the associated blocks window to the module. By entering the connection pin values and some graphic information, a block is quickly generated and thus already associated and configured.

After completing these fields, the block is created and you get a preview of how the inverter will appear.
